The set includes four coasters that are made of stone of some sort. They have a finished surface, and do not absorb water. Each coaster is about a quarter of an inch high, and the holder is around five to six inches tall. Unfortunately, you can't buy the coasters separately as they all come packaged together. Also, the coasters do not have a padded bottom and are not machine washable – they have to be hand washed only. Lastly, the dragon coaster holder is not suitable to use as an ashtray.
