The Inheritance Games is a thrilling mystery novel where a teenage girl, Avery, is named the sole heir to the massive estate of a billionaire she barely knew. To inherit her fortune, Avery is tasked with solving several puzzles and working with the billionaire's four grandsons. The plot is well-crafted, and the inclusion of puzzles and riddles throughout the story keeps the reader engaged. The characters are relatable and fleshed out, though some are more compelling than others. One downside is the lack of a significant reveal as to why Avery was chosen as the billionaire's heir, which is underwhelming. The book leaves off on a cliffhanger as it's the first in a series. The reader should know that there are some trigger warnings for some violence, gun violence, attempted murder, and death. Despite its shortcomings, The Inheritance Games is an exciting read that is highly recommended for those who love mysteries with puzzles and riddles. It's perfect for readers aged 14 and above.
