The starter comes with one set of horizontal shims and two vertical shims to accommodate different spacing configurations. However, according to the FAQs, the starter is quite loud, but this is a characteristic of its powerful design. The product does not come with new bolts, but the starter itself is a good buy and works well with a variety of engine sizes. Customer reception of the product is mixed.
