The mailbox requires a 5' post, with 3' above ground and 2' in the ground. One customer mentioned that they had their mailbox up since February and it has been holding up well. However, it is not possible to replace the front door to the mailbox. The company is located in Ohio and can be contacted for parts. Overall, this mailbox is a nice box for its price.
