What are the main features of the Saxon 1200D Heavy II?

The Saxon 1200D Heavy II features a durable 1200 denier outer shell that is both waterproof and breathable. This construction material ensures your horse stays dry and comfortable in various weather conditions. The design also includes reflective strips for improved visibility, and the gusseted shoulders allow for natural movement. Overall, it’s an excellent choice for horse owners seeking reliable protection during rugged outdoor activities.

Is the Saxon 1200D Heavy II suitable for all horse breeds?

Yes, the Saxon 1200D Heavy II is designed with a universal fit that caters to a wide range of horse breeds and body types. Its adjustable straps and gusset design enhance the fit, ensuring comfort and freedom of movement. Whether you own a Thoroughbred or a warmblood, this rug accommodates different sizes well, making it a versatile addition to your horse gear.

How does the gusset design benefit my horse?

The gusset design in the Saxon 1200D Heavy II allows for enhanced shoulder movement, which is especially beneficial for horses that are active or competing. This feature prevents rubbing and chafing during vigorous activities, ensuring your horse remains comfortable and focused. With a more relaxed fit around the shoulders, your horse can move freely, whether for turnout, exercise, or competitions.

Can I use the Saxon 1200D Heavy II for both turnout and stabling?

Absolutely! The Saxon 1200D Heavy II is versatile enough to be used for both turnout in the pasture and stabling. Its waterproof and breathable properties keep your horse dry during inclement weather when turned out, while the insulation ensures warmth when stabled. This adaptability makes it a great choice for year-round use in changing conditions.

What size should I choose for my horse?

To select the appropriate size for your horse, it's essential to measure from the center of the chest to the point of the tail. The Saxon 1200D Heavy II is available in a specific size, 78 inches, which typically fits larger horses. Ensure you measure accurately and consider your horse’s build to find the most comfortable fit that will accommodate layering if needed.

What maintenance is required for the Saxon 1200D Heavy II?

Maintaining the Saxon 1200D Heavy II is straightforward. It can be machine washed in cold water, but it’s advisable to remove any excess dirt or debris before washing. Use a mild detergent and avoid fabric softeners, as these can compromise the rug's protective qualities. Regular cleaning ensures that it remains hygienic and extends its lifespan, keeping your horse well-protected.

Is the Saxon 1200D Heavy II breathable?

Yes, the Saxon 1200D Heavy II is designed to be breathable, allowing moisture and heat to escape while keeping your horse dry. This feature is crucial for regulating body temperature, especially when horses are active or wearing the rug for extended periods. The combination of waterproofing and breathability means you can confidently use this rug without worrying about overheating or excessive sweating.

What color options are available for the Saxon 1200D Heavy II?

The Saxon 1200D Heavy II currently comes in a classic Black/Black colorway. This sleek design not only looks great on any horse but also minimizes the visibility of dirt and mud. While you may find this model primarily in black, this choice makes it versatile and suitable for various settings, whether you're at home or at a show.

Can I use the Saxon 1200D Heavy II in winter conditions?

Definitely! The Saxon 1200D Heavy II is equipped to handle winter conditions effectively, thanks to its heavy fill insulation. This ensures that your horse remains warm during the colder months.
