Horror Editorial Review

### Editorial Review The latest installment of the V/H/S anthology series has sparked a varied response among fans and newcomers to the franchise. While some viewers are thrilled by the nostalgia and creativity on display, others feel that this entry falls short compared to its predecessors. The film offers a diverse collection of horror segments that embrace unique themes, including brutal violence, supernatural elements, and even doses of dark humor. One standout segment, "No Wake," has garnered particular praise for its compelling narrative and impressive gore effects. The storyline captivates viewers with its suspenseful approach to a waterskiing adventure gone awry, leading to shocking twists that keep audiences engaged. Contrastingly, segments like "God of Death" and "TEKNOGD" received criticism for their lack of substance and failed to resonate with many viewers, falling short of the excitement seen in "No Wake." The film’s nostalgic 80s aesthetic is another highlight, accurately capturing the vibe of that era with a creative soundtrack and visuals reminiscent of old VHS tapes. Some segments succeed in delivering thrilling ideas while others feel underdeveloped, leaving audiences wanting more. However, the presence of grisly effects and memorable creature designs adds a distinct flair to the anthology, catering to fans of lower-budget horror cinema. While this entry may not redefine the franchise, it serves as a reminder of the unique storytelling and creativity that characterizes the V/H/S series. Most notably, long-time fans seem to appreciate the film's willingness to explore eccentric concepts, even if not every segment hits the mark. Overall, "V/H/S/85" is Considered an enjoyable watch, especially in a group setting, and despite its flaws, it successfully captures the essence of the series. **
