Grange went through a meticulous research process in this novel, as in every novel, to design his novel. He stayed in a psychiatric hospital for a while and had long conversations with patients. He is immersed among the homeless in Marseille in a spooky world that he describes with exciting descriptions. Grange created the main character of the novel as a result of these researches. Mathias Freire is a young psychiatrist working in a specialized hospital in Bordeaux, who does not have a private life outside of his job. One night while he was on duty, a man with lost his memory, who was on the train tracks, was brought to the hospital. The next day, a body is found in the area. The person whose body was found is a young drug addict and there are no signs of assault on his body. Mathias takes special care of his patient. As a result of his hypnosis, his patient remembers some information about his past. However, the doctor's research shows that the information given by his patient is completely fraudulent. Mathias is of the opinion that the man is in a psychic escape, trying to get rid of his true self after a great trauma, and therefore unconsciously creates a new identity. However, there comes a time when he discovers that he, like his patient, is experiencing a psychic escape and decides to find his true identity. Mathias also has memory loss; When he comes to, he is a different personality. And as a suitcase-free traveler, he sets out to investigate his own past. Stating that he likes to have some legend, some western, some history in his stories, Grange evaluates the tendency to let go of his life as an impulse that we can all experience when we experience a major setback, when we feel under family or professional pressure.
