- Ernesto Che Guevara writes the history of the Cuban Revolution in all its versatility and detail in his War Memoirs-Cuban Diary. In the book, the memories and events of this revolutionary movement, which is now a glorious page in Latin American history, are accurately and reliably determined. The diary begins with the yacht Granma, which took 82 revolutionary warriors to Cuba, setting off from the Mexican port of Tuxpan and continues with the first battle at Alegria de Pio, in which Fidel also participated. Che's aim was not merely to publish a series of personal memoirs about some of the attacks, conflicts and clashes he participated in in a particular part of the country. He also wanted the clashes and actions that took place in Cuban territory and elsewhere, of which he had no witnesses, to be included in his memories. Therefore, he called on the warriors who were alive at the time the book was written to write their memoirs.In his preface to his book, Che writes that memoirists must adhere to certain principles, such as not deviating from reality, not exaggerating personal situations, not showing themselves differently than they are, and not creating the impression that they are in a place they are not. After writing a few pages, each author says that words that are not based on real events or that he does not completely trust in their accuracy should be erased and should not go beyond a strict framework of self-criticism, and states that he writes his memoirs with this in mind Show more
