svar: I received this phone, but it was BBB100-2 instead of BBB100-3 that it needs to be to work on Verizon. The 100-2 is for Europe or such. -

Will this phone still work in 2020 with Verizon? I want to purchase it but want to make sure it will for sure work with Verizon
svar: This phone still works with Verizon since it supports HD-Voice calling by going into a hidden configuration menu. However, it may be a challenge to provision since Verizon no longer allows BYOD with non-HD-Voice activations after Jan 1, 2020, so they may reject the activation since the phone starts off in non-HD Voice mode, and Verizon's database doesn't show it as an HD Voice phone natively. If you can get the phone activated, then you can enable HD-Voice afterwards. That said, I would question why you are trying to buy a new KeyOne phone. The Blackberry/TCL partnership is done, and the CDMA model of the Keyone has not had any security updates since 2019-Feb and will never have any further security updates. Additionally, one of the TCL preloaded apps was caught recently installing malware/bloatware without user permission on Keyone and Keytwo phones. Since these are whitelisted by TCL, they are not detected in any DTEK scans. I've had to reformat my phone and install extra NetGuard software to block the TCL apps, and am looking to migrate off Blackberry after using them for over 15 years.
